I have been having so much fun on herbmentor.com. Seriously, if you are interested in using herbs at all, this site is AWESOME!
There are instructional videos on how to make all sorts of things from infusions, tinctures, syrups, and teas, to herbal infused vinegars, oils, and natural body products (creams/bath products etc). It is SO MUCH FUN! There are recipes for ways to incorporate nourishing herbs into your everyday cooking, an herbalpedia, tips on growing your own herb garden, quite a few featured amazing expert herbalists, and great forums in which you can ask questions. I've just been loving it so much! And if you get the Herbal Medicine Making Kit from learningherbs.com (which I got for Christmas and it is worth every penny! A bargain really!), you get a discounted membership. And right now I'm still in the free trial period, but even if I had to pay the full price subscription I think it would be completely worth it!
The people there are so helpful and knowledgeable and friendly! And what it is really about is whole health and how to use plants/herbs in your everyday living and nourishment to optimize your health and the health of your family. They emphasize using what grows around you and incorporating it into your life in very simple and practical ways. I've learned so much just about everyday "weeds" that have incredible nourishing and healing properties that are all around us and I didn't even know it! God has provided us with all of this and it is right under our noses (or in your back yard. ;)
So far I have made a tincture, a healing salve, many many nourishing infusions (which I use almost daily), and a couple of medicinal/supplemental syrups. The salve was so easy and turned out so amazingly well. It is good for just about everything, but I especially love it for chapped lips!
Anyway, I have been benefiting a lot from the site (and so has my family!) and love using it.
